Gray sectors while painting landscape

This issue is really hindering my progress. I’ve tried painting over the whole landscape first to get some layer data, and then painting on the textures I want, but it keeps just graying out in chunks and won’t stop. How do I fix this issue?

The problem is that there are too many landscape samples in your material, thus causing compiling error for certain components. You can see that in the console panel.

It even happens with like 3 layers. Which not too many layers.
Most realistic environments go up to 10-11 layers.

The problem is with the LandscapeLayerBlend node.
I am completely changing my workflow and so far I don’t have any problems no matter how many samples I use. But I still have some work to do on it.

OP are you using the LandscapeLayerBlend node too?

how many textures are you using per layer?
