Grass foliage

Hi there,

I’ve put some grass foliage in my map (attached) however I’ve got two questions:

First, say I wanted a periodic flower in there every so often as a pattern in the grass, how do I do this?

Secondly, I’m getting fps of around 80 with the grass but whenever I have another actor in there ie a very basic tree static mesh, the fps drops to 25, so when the player looks around the environment camera motion gets very jerky when the tree comes into view, how do I fix this?

Would appreciate some advice.

You can do the foliage painter for the flower(s), either setting the amount it paints really low and drawing over area kind of randomly
Or set the brush size to whole area you would want flowers in and clicking. Playing with the settings and having it do a repaint (just painting in same area again wont redo it, there is a tool for that specifically)

it’s pretty easy to use. You can get the world demo and use the assets. It’s rough if you are trying to do mobile or anything. From what I understand from list of mesh, they arent supported like this but, i’ve seem people talk about them. I dont know if docs are out dated or if there is work around.

on the tree…no idea.
