Grainy dark areas in HDR?

Hi everyone!

I just got an HDR monitor and enabled everything - so far so good, everything seems to work fine.

When i open my UE4 project i notice everything looks a little different (better? brighter?)
But in dark areas i get this weird grain (looks like film noise from the PostProcessing volume)
What could be wrong here? When i drag the viewer onto my other screen (no HDR) it disappears and everything look like before.

I’m super new to HDR and can’t find a lot on how to use it in UE4.
Are there any good tutorials / documentation etc?
How do i color grade now? How to check if HDR + LDR looks good?

I wonder if the grain could be because UE shows the view in LDR and the monitor is “emulating” HDR.
But how to switch on HDR in the editor then…?
