GooglePlay 16bit page size requirement

So we have the page size requirement kicking in on November 1st.

The question is, is it realistic to update our source fork ( 5.5 ) with the changes needed available on 5.6?

I’ve had a bit of a look at github, and there seem to be quite a lot of changes, so I am not optimistic but figured it would be good to get an opinion from here before we commit to the engine upgrade.

Other developers have successfully backported 16kb page alignment from 5.6 to earlier 5.x versions.
