Glare in HMD when under spotlights?

I have a few spotlights on my ceiling and as I walk around the scene in VR I often get a glare in the HMD view — but never in the normal PIE. Even worse, it often only happens in one eye. It goes away if I turn off bloom but I unfortunately need bloom for this particular project. This happens if the spotlights are static or movable.

Left image is with bloom turned off, right is with bloom turned on.

Also, this happens even without the handful of tiny spotlights on the right, those were just there for performance testing.

Has anyone run into this or have any ideas on how to solve it?

same here, I can’t use bloom in my project without getting it all smeared across the screen. I have not yet found a way to get rid of it, and in fact, it happens with my subsurface profile-material as well even when bloom is off.
