So i made my first character with blender, and i want to make an animation. But i don’t know where i have to give them bones, on UE5 or immediately on blender itself. And if i even give my character bones via blender, when i import it as a FBX to Unreal engine, will the bones come with it?
Yes, you need to make your bones in Blender like in the same way as if you were going to animate it there, in fact, you are going to animate it there.
Unreal reads bones from an .fbx and also animations.
I leave you a link to a community tutorial about animations from Blender to Unreal
(Is for Unreal 4 but in 5 it’s practically the same)
And a link to the documentation page about .fbx animations:
I am done with the animations and my character itsel. But when i export it as a FBX to UE5.
it sais that there is no mesh or animation to find. I did some searching but couldn’t find something.
