gFur, free shell based fur plugin

Hi,

I’m testing 1.3 and I have got some issues:

  • I tried to add Gfur component to a static mesh but it seems I still need to add a grow mesh with a skeleton?
  • I tried an animation with morph targets but it’s not working when I add Gfur (these morph targets are working without Gfur)

Is there any updated documentation for the new features?

thanks

Are you using gFur PRO?

Yes, Gfur pro only!

For the static mesh, you need only a static grow mesh, the slot/section for this should be located below the skeletal grow mesh.
As for the animated morphs, can you post some screenshots of your setup? We still need to update the docs for new features. We were hoping to do that together with the next update which will bring grooming tools directly into UE (so no need for external app anymore).

I don’t see any slot for static grow mesh? See the screenshot I made

I’m using UE4 4.20 with Gfur pro 1.3

Hello, on the screenshot you have gFur free installed. Try uninstalling that one first and reinstall PRO afterwards.

Hi, I downloaded the free plugin of Gfur to see if it’s worth it before buying the Pro version.

I followed the steps on the website but I do have some issues.
First, When I have my hair generated on a wolf model, the base model has the good color but the hair are bluish and can’t seem to find where choose the right skin for them.
Second, I can’t find the LOD options for the GFur hair. They disappear at short distance (around 10m ingame) which is way too soon.

If I can have it to work correctly then i’ll mots likely buy advanced version, but for now I’m stuck.

Yeah, we have it ready, so expect it this or the next week.

Hello, not sure what are you asking about :\

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1z2w…wT5ciJTY5/view
reaction with mesh
Generating wool displacement particles, each tick created by rubbing meshes around each other, and the particles will dissolve within 3 seconds and be removed from the rendering layer above the wind texture to combine the data into WorldPosition Offset
or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAYcxG9nQnY

Cool. Would you share more info on the displacement particles and all that?

When?(January?)

Hope so, fingers crossed.

Little teaser video for the in-game grooming tools - gFur v2 - YouTube

It would be great to have access to the splines during the game and put collisions on the splines as well as on the bushes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlkJkTPcVM0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lo_0doseEaM https://img-9gag-fun.9cache.com/phot…_460svvp9.webm
Why is it that no one makes a similar plug-in on the hair? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uukXXpRQpNA

Thanks!! (gFur PRO 2.0 for UE4.21.x)

Have fun with the grooming
Unfortunately the documentation isn’t updated yet, but hopefully gFur is getting more intuitive. Still the docs need to be updated asap.

I bought your plugin, but it doesn’t suit me because there is no tick in the fur to react with collisions / meshes https://drive.google.com/file/d/1z2w…wT5ciJTY5/view
