Getting rid of banding in Movie Render Queue

Hi everyone,

I’m currently having terrible banding in Unreal Engine 4, especially when I try to render a cinematic. When in game, it doesn’t appear to be that noticeable, but it really is once it’s rendered through, for example, Movie Render Queue. It’s like multiple concentric circles leading up to the center of the screen. Do you have an idea on how to remove/reduce that effect?

Thanks a lot!

Do you mean this?

Oh, no I mean the circles on the screen :

Here’s the same image with more contrast and less brightness to make it more apparent :

I’ve found the issue! In the post-process, Unreal puts a vignette at 0.4 intensity by default. Sadly, that vignette causes terrible banding when rendering a sequence. The solution was to put the intensity of the vignette at 0, then adding one after the fact in the editing software of your choice!

Thanks, I had no idea it was adding a vignette, had I known I’d have disabled it before doing so many renders. I had this banding issue also on a dark scene, it’s still there but greatly reduced
