Try going to GitHub.com then on the main page look for EpicGames/developers under “Your Teams” (should be in bottom left corner). Click on that, repositories tab then EpicGames/UnrealEngine.
If any of that fails, then your registration likely didn’t complete properly.
I didn’t find the “Your Teams” part you mentioned. Let me show you the screen I am referring to, it should be just a matter of clicking this link (the link I’ve seen in official documentation). But it gives me this error all the time.
Just another thing: I’m logged into Github as I am trying to access this repository, for sure.
I don’t think your registration went through (Downloading Unreal Engine Source Code | Unreal Engine 5.3 Documentation)
You should see Your teams:
Then you should be able to open that link:
I see what you mean. The reason it shows on your teams list is because you had access previously to the link of the repository. As I didn’t, nothing shows on mine. I don’t have any other repository by the way, this is the only one I am trying to use for now. And if I can’t access it in the first place, the rest won’t come. If you could be so kind as to check the Url you accessed and send it to me, I would be grateful. This is the link where I was supposed to get the repository from, if you could just take a look for me ( EpicGames/Signup: Information about signing up for a free Epic Games account, and getting access to UnrealEngine source code. (github.com). I am a newbie here and I am having a great deal of difficulty.
Maybe there’s writing on the wall and I’ve been missing it. This screen grab shows in the documentation what seems to be an indication that I must be a licensee in order to be able to download the source for Unreal Engine. I noticed how the page you probably went to get it is a private one in Github, and the one I’ve been trying is a public one. If I am right I don’t think I can afford the cheapest license of more than $1,000 . Maybe there’s no other way.
There is some issue with GitHub UnrealEngine team invitations. I have the same issue as topic starter. I linked my GitHub account today. But I still don’t have access to sources.
According to instruction the invitation should arrive after linking.
I asked Epic Games support. They point me to this forum.
Writing to confirm that this is an issue - I have also linked my accounts, received an email, but get the 404 web page when trying to get to the Github repository. I have verified that permission for Epic are still set, etc., but no love. Trying to build a dedicated server, but can’t follow the provided instructions unless I can get the source code…
I guess we should wait now.
If you didn’t have enough confirmation, I too have been experiencing this issue. I contacted support to see if they could give me a hand! As soon as i get an update I’ll try to hit you guys up unless someone does it sooner.
Having same issue for about 5 days.
Tried unlinking and linking account to github and still have 404.
I believe its something with their automated system that just doesn’t send you the invite. Unlinking and linking it again, be it with a different browser or in incognito mode won’t change it unfortunately. All we can do is wait until then. I’ve asked them if they could provide me the source code in the mean time
I had a conversation with support. And it was useless. There are couple of messages in the thread. Support does not want to deal with it. Two solutions were given to me: ask community forum and contact GitHub. The thread is closed.
Does anybody know how to bypass first support line?
I also had a useless discussion with support. It’s been days now and I still can’t get in. I wouldn’t need the source code if Linux support was better supported but here we are…
Going to keep asking support until I get a real answer. It only gets fixed if enough people complain.
How are you guys reaching support? I mean, actual support from Epic? If so, you must have a paid signature am I right? Because I’ve only managed to reach the forums.
Same here.
Reply from the support:
Hi there,
Thank you for letting me know.
I checked my resources, and I can see that our team has detected an issue wherein players are not receiving the Github invites, and are now currently working on a fix for this issue. Rest assured that we are doing our best to have this issue finally fixed.
We will get back to you as soon as we have an update, or if we need more information. Thank you for your utmost patience!
Regards,
Let’s see how long it will take for us to get access to the source code.
hmmm out of curiosity, I managed to get my hand on a source code for Unreal build 5.2. Would it break and form of ToS or something of the sort if I were to share it to people having this issue to save y’all some headaches?
- updated: I actually can! As long as its not edited. Which mean I can offer only the source code for the unreal 5.2 for people who would need it. Just want to confirm if people even wants it to begin with? (link to the forum page confirming it for the curious: Can I share code on a public github repository?)
Can you please send me the link to the source code
