Gear VR textures and OpenGL ES3?

Samsung S6 and Gear VR -
Does Unreal support OpenGL ES3 and ECT2? Right now I seem to be forced to use ECT1 to render textures.

The UE development guide for the Gear VR show selecting packaging using ECT 2 with the first person example. But when textures are assigned this simply yields static on the models in gear. Appear fine in the editor and Mac player.

There also doesn’t seem to be a way to set OpenGL ES3 without getting the Git source.

Are there other settings or specific texture requirements for the gear vr that should be followed or set?

I’m using ECT2 and OpenGL ES 3 on my Unity version without issue.
