Since the launch of Fortnite Chapter 6 I have experienced frequent crashes, seemingly at random since there is no commonality between what is happening when they occur other than playing the game. I have never had crashing issues with this game outside of the ray tracing bug which was resolved when I turned it off. I have never had crashing issues on any other game with this rig ever.
Crashes have happened in Zero Build, Ballistic, Rocket Racing, the lobby, watching replays, and random Creative maps.
Before the crash the screen will typically lock up for a few seconds, followed by the game closing itself and an âoopsâ Unreal Engine error message that doesnât give any additional information.
During gameplay, things will usually be fine for a period of time and then the framerate will hitch and dip very low out of nowhere. I have a 4090 and typically get at least 80+ FPS no issue at all with my settings. These dips will go down to 5FPS and hover around there, or shoot back and forth between that and a normal framerate. A crash is usually imminent at some point afterward. Again there doesnât seem to be any common thread that I can ascertain between the times this has happened.
I have attempted every troubleshooting step I can possibly think of, including updating drivers, rolling back drivers, deleting the FortniteGame folder, updating C++, reinstalling, etc etc. I work in tech myself and can usually figure these things out, but it seems this is some sort of deeper engine issue that is beyond me so I thought I would report it to hopefully get it addressed.
Thanks!

the same for me , i tried everything , the game crashes after 2 rounds in zero Build, Lego fortnite, Lobby everywhere since last Season for me, if they wonât change it , a lot of people will be giving up on Fortnite for a long time again, and i am already thinking of giving up on Fortnite !
My friends do experiance the same issue on their Pcâs too! Epic do something about it ! he descriped it better then i could ever explain it ! s
I reached out to game support multiple times and itâs probably the worst support chat Iâve ever experienced. They ignore everything you say and just paste support site links (even when you say youâve already tried those steps) before they close the ticket on you. But if this isnât the forum for this issue then I understand. Thanks.
Completely Top-Of-The-Line PC for game development in Unreal 5.5 ($6,000 PC) with the best processor, motherboard, 128G RAM, 64G Nvidia 4090, and literally every top PC part ever.
And it still crashes, Fornite is un-playable for me crashes every 3 games or so completely randomly.
Iâve done it all, Wipe, reinstall, Drivers, verify, %temp%, %localappdata% â literally everything so I think its a code issue at this point, likely with something to do with the raytracing portion of it, which I have turned off as well.
4K resolution on Samsung Ark 55 - and a 6K PC - for sure itâs not me.
