Full Dive Virtual Reality (Total Immersion)

I read a story where there HAS now been prostetics created that give the sense of touch back to people that wear them. They can actually feel things through the prostetic. This means that technology has advanced to the point where we can send signals to the brain and have them interpreted correctly. Given this, we know what signals to look for and where to send them in the brain. Now in any Full Dive setup, the equipment would be able to detect these signals.
I also read that brain to brain links have also been created where someone can control another person’s body. The test subject being controlled was able to get those sigjals and their body acted on them. This means that we also have the ability to directly translate movements into a virtual body if it was made as such.
So now we have movement and touch covered, we have vison, smell, taste, and hearing left. Now there are various technologies that improve them however now that we know how to look for these signals and isolate them, it is only a matter of time until we can substitute those too.
There are two fundamental challenges here really preventing us from making full dive a reality:
-Suppression and rerouting of the body signals

  • How to do this all wirelessly and non invasively
The first point is hard enough on it’s own but gets incredibly hard to do wirelessly.
I mention wirelessly because this is ultimately the goal as until it can be done wirelessly, there will be limited acceptance of full dive systems. Not many people would want a surgery to use this technology, especially not if it is brain surgery as that starts to become incredibly risky. Perhaps nanite technology would be something to look into as this would accomplish the objective among giving other health benefits however that would be not quite in the next few years as that tech us still developong… The nanites would be capable of suppressing the signals while activated by a certain signal by the full dive system until the person logs off and the signal is deactivated and the nanites go dormant again. Now this is not totally non invasive however as i said people may start getting them in the future anyways because of the health benefits nanotechnology is capable of and so full dive would be a secondary function as there is medical benefits to nanites being able to suppress signals anyways such as people with chronic pain, preventing injured patients from making their injuries worse, etc.
I want to discuss this more with you guys in real time and maybe even work to combine our research to create a prototype full dive system. If you are interested let me know.
