Frosted LampShade Material

Hey guys! I’ve been struggling to get the ‘‘frosted’’ effect from a lampshade (it’s on a ceiling fan)
I’d like to get something that kinda looks like this but a bit brighter https://images.lowes.ca/img/x/14289/671961400712_ca.jpg

I’m not sure if I should just use SSS and add a light inside to fake the lightbulb or if there’s a way to use the actual lightbulb with emissive and affect the SSS?

If you have any idea,I’m all ears! thanks

Hmm… I think the better way to do it is to use SSS and emissive.

Two Models :
1 : is the “glass” part and disable the “cast shadows” in the properties (then put a pointlight inside)
2 : the rest

Two Materials :
1 : One with SSS & Emissive only on the glass part
2 : the rest without SSS (you can let the emissive)

For the crystal of the Stargate, I’ve inverted the normal of the model, put the lights behind and baked my emissive with Vray.

The SSS give you a little something extra.

I tested quickly with super simple setup during my lunch time and it worked pretty good so I’ll try it in my real unreal scene tonight, will keep you updated, thanks a lot!
