Frequent EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address Crashes

Summary

Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x00000000000001f0

Inconsistent but frequent crashing when:

  • Validating
  • Pushing to URC
  • Syncing from URC
  • Launching Session
  • Pushing Changes to Session

These crashes happen for all 6 members of our team, with sometimes 20 crashes per person per day.

The memory Address is inconsistent.

Any of:

  • Validating
  • Pushing to URC
  • Syncing from URC
  • Launching Session
  • Pushing Changes to Session

Expected Result

Error is detected by validation without causing unhelpful crash

Observed Result

Sudden crashes occurring around 25% validation, or at random other times when doing these actions:

  • Validating
  • Pushing to URC
  • Syncing from URC
  • Launching Session
  • Pushing Changes to Session

though it feels around 50%+ chance they fail.

Windows 11 (6 different high end computers, ranging across different hardware manufacturers: AMD CPUs, Intel CPUs, NVidia GPUs, AMD GPU)

FORT-955718 has been created and its status is ‘Unconfirmed’. This is now in a queue to be reproduced and confirmed.

Sorry about the barebones reproduction part, its a very large project, and we havent been able to diagnose the source of the problem.

The crashes have increased significantly since v37, where previously they were effecting only a few team members with much more limited impact (Mainly occuring on session launch) now they are happening on all the above actions.
