fps drops when opening context menu in Unreal Engine

hello! I created a project in 5.0 and when I opened the context menu, fps started to drop. I decided to check it out in my old 5.0 project - everything is OK there. In the evening I created a project in 5.1 everything worked correctly. In the morning, having opened UE 5.1, fps began to fall again when opening the menu. P.S. In the old 5.0 project, fps is also falling now.

And I observe this effect when opening all such menus

Hi Erik,

I’m reminded of this video.

Are you using a G-Sync monitor?

Here just to say - got same trouble, on classic 60-hz monitor, without any G-Sync. And still can’t do anithyng with that - any new tooltip, hint about rendering, compiling, take recording - divide my FPS by two or more

Hi Ivelnov,

My next suggestion would be to look into any “Graphics card software” settings.

Such as Nvidia Overlays or Third party stuff.

No, I don’t use G-Sync. I have a fairly old ViewSonic monitor.

strange, what gpus do yall use?

GTX 1660S. She’s a little old, of course, but she’s still trying to do something. It seems that the problem is not in the PC components. Although it is the same on 5.0 and 5.1, it is very strange.

You were right: for me - it was Riva Tuner Overlay (statistic utility, installed with MSI Afterburner)
After disabling “Show on-screen display” in this utility I’ve got no fps drops anymore

THANK YOU!!! @ivlenov and @Astrotronic

I have been struggling with this problem that made Take Recorder unusable and it was exactly this totally unnecessary Riva Tuner that was causing it!

Thank you again!

This is what fixed it for me. it was riva tuner.
