I’ve had a very annoying bug for several weeks now. At first I didn’t think it was a bug, but now I think it is. I’m creating a game on the unreal engine (4.25) and for some time now the fps have dropped drastically, going from 30 fps stable to 10 fps. Initially, changing the game’s quality paid off, allowing me to go to 30 fps in medium. However, for some time now, the fps have remained at 10 fps no matter what I do, even though I haven’t added anything new. Up until now, I’ve only been using blueprints for my character’s movements and animations, so nothing important has changed no matter what I do. I’ve tried every possible solution today except changing the version because I don’t think that would solve my problem and because it would probably mean losing everything about my project on which I’ve spent several hours now. I wanted to see if the problem was linked to the pre-made map I’d taken from the market place (because yes, my map is pre-made), so I created a new empty project and surprise! I’m getting a maximum of 20 fps and how can I get 30? By hiding all the game elements, all of them. I don’t have a very powerful PC, it’s a student’s PC with an Iris xe GPU, an i5-1135 G7 and 16 gb of ram and with enough storage. Everything on my PC is up to date, from the graphics card to my operating system (Windows 10). The fact that this problem appears all of a sudden after several hours makes me think that it’s more a bug than a lack of performance on my PC (I’d like to point out that I’m running 4.25, which is powerful enough for my PC given the recommended components and a version that’s quite popular and doesn’t have any major bugs). I tried to fix the problem all day and suddenly, without having done anything significant, I had 30 fps stable again on my project and 10 min later a blue screen without having done anything in particular and then 10 fps again… I’ve never seen anyone have this problem on the Internet and I hope you can help me as I’m running out of solutions. And even if you don’t find any, thanks anyway for reading this long question! (And sorry for the potential bad English)
