Fortnite hard-freezes my entire Lenovo Legion laptop even in lobby — forced power-off required (RTX 4060)

Summary

Fortnite is completely freezing my entire PC, not just crashing to desktop.

System:
Lenovo Legion Pro 5 16ARX8
Ryzen 7 7745HX
RTX 4060 Laptop GPU
32 GB DDR5
Windows 11

Steps to Reproduce

The freeze can happen within around 5 minutes even while sitting in the Fortnite lobby. The screen freezes completely, mouse/keyboard stop responding, Ctrl+Alt+Del does nothing, and I have to hold the power button to restart.

I have already tested:

DirectX 11 and Performance Mode
60/120 FPS limits
Reflex Off / other settings
Fortnite reinstall + Verify
Fortnite local config/cache reset
clean boot
Windows repair reinstall
DDU clean NVIDIA installation
Lenovo OEM NVIDIA driver
NVIDIA 591.86
Realtek Ethernet disabled
shader cache reset
Lenovo diagnostics
OCCT Memory, VRAM, 3D Adaptive and combined Power tests

All OCCT tests pass with no errors.

Expected Result

Obviously it should not freeze the PC.

Observed Result

The laptop is stable in other workloads/games such as After Effects and Warframe.

I also captured HWiNFO during a lobby freeze. Immediately before the freeze the system was not under extreme load:

GPU ~49°C
GPU power ~17 W
GPU load ~32%
CPU ~87°C
RAM ~51%
no HWiNFO errors

An older Windows LiveKernelReport from this same laptop showed:

VIDEO_ENGINE_TIMEOUT_DETECTED (0x141)
nvlddmkm.sys

his occurs specifically with Fortnite, I want to know if other players are experiencing the same total-system lock.

Has anyone with an RTX 40-series laptop seen this recently? If yes, what laptop/GPU/driver version are you using?
