Fortnite Freezing and Crashing. Tried lots of things and it keeps happening. HELP!

Summary

Fortnite keeps freezing and then crashing on my Windows PC. It worked great in Nov & Dec, but issues started in January.
Things I have tried- uninstalling and reinstalling both Epic Launcher and Fortnite. Clearing cache. Clearing temp files and local app data. Running Epic as an administrator. Lowering graphics. Upgraded Wifi. Verify the game files. Upgrading Windows and drivers on the computer. Also tried uninstalling them. Reset the computer. Deleting the crash reports. I really think we’ve tried everything we can find. Selected the DPI option, setting Windows 8, running as admin.

My last thought is maybe it’s time to get an actual gaming PC. This computer is a Dell Inspiron, with processor i7- 1360p, 2200 Mhz. Any last things I can try??

If the answer is “it’s time to get a new computer”… what do you recommend? I’m fairly new to Fortnite but love it and it’s really frustrating I can’t play without issues. I also read that the new update has caused problems.

Steps to Reproduce

I don’t think this can be reproduced from another computer. I want to find out if this is an issue with Epic or Fortnite, or if it’s my computer.

Expected Result

I’m hoping someone can guide me to fix the issue on my own or tell me if the problem is because of a recent update to the game.

Observed Result

Again, looking for answers to fix this on my own or learn if it’s an update issue.

Additional Notes

I want to find out if there is an issue with the newest update of Fortnite/Epic Games for PC. Or if there is anything I can try to fix the problem.

Hey Jackthetack531,

Recently I found out UEFN loves a big paging file, don’t let windows manage your size and set it to the max you can. Being a lappy I assume you’ve only got 1 hard drive, normally Windows likes about 11% space free for virtual memory use, but cranking it up really benefits, Ive got it at 211GB on a spare SSD which really helps my old PC with UEFN.
