Fortnite crashes PC to bluescreen

Summary

Fortnite no longer loading. After a few minutes the PC freezes, then crashes.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Launch Fortnite Batlle Royale or launch a Fortnite session out of the editor.

2. In both cases PC freezes, then crashes. The editor alone runs just fine.

Expected Result

Standalone Fortnite as well as Editor play sessions should load as usual.

Observed Result

Both are crashing PC to a blue screen.

Hello Dormikon,

What sort of GPU are you using? There’s been some instability with Nvidia lately.

Since you’re on a Laptop - make sure you’re plugged into wall power. (Laptops might throttle or use on-board graphics when not plugged in)

Try getting the latest GPU drivers, If that donesn’t work, and assuming you’re on an Nvidia GPU you could try rolling back to older drivers.

Yes, I do have an NVidia GTX 1660 with 30 GB, and ran into this error after the second last update of Fortnite. I updated the driver, but the problem continues.

Windows gives the stopcode " Inaccessible Boot Device"

The inaccesible boot disk means you have disk corruption
Run windows Command processor as the “Run As Administrator”

Then restart your PC and ChkDsk will report errors and try to fix them
