Hello everyone, I would like to know if a set of Forest Pack objects imported into the scene and using Nanite would have any extra weight compared to foliage, for example.
From my tests, they had similar performance, but I would like to hear from more experienced users if using Datasmith to import Forest Pack would cause any significant performance damage (Path tracing and Lumen).
Thx!
Anything you add to the scene is going to impact performance.
The biggest issue with foliage packs tends to be using pixel depth offset and masked materials. Both are more expensive for Nanite meshes.

Thx for your comment. So there are no differences between import forest pack models/ use same ones in foliage regarding shading and lighting alright?
I mean, somehow imported forest pack costs more than foliage?
I´m asking because someone at my job is saying it costs more to render than other methods, but in my tests, it won´t happen. I´m a beginner and want a pro answer to show them.
Here are a few print screens I took (I hope it makes sense).
Left forest pack right Foliage
Thx a lot!
