In Place I select all foliage so I can see if there are any yellow lines hidden below rocks for deleting, by mistake if you then go to landscape mode then foliage while all the foliage is selected then the foliage cannot be deselected any more.

Following your steps I have tried to recreate what you are experiencing.
1.) I created a new project in 4.9 and created a new blank level.
2.) I then created a landscape with standard settings. (Didn’t change anything or build.)
3.) Then I added the SM_Bush from the Starter Content to the foliage brush in foliage mode.
4.) I painted some foliage in random places across the landscape.
5.) From here I pressed (Shift+1) and clicked some foliage. Then I pressed (Shift+3) to go to landscape mode. Then I pressed (Shift+4) to go to foliage mode. I was unable to switch between landscape and foliage mode when pressing Shift+4. (Not quite sure why this is happening.)
Please let me know if this differs from the the steps you took.

I haven’t heard from you yet. I was wondering if you were still experiencing this issue? Also have you had a chance to see if the above mentioned steps differ from yours?
