The foliage reapply tool doesn’t seem to be updating any settings other than the cull distance. Changing settings in the “Show paint settings” pane has no effect on the placed instance, regardless of if the checkboxes are selected or not.
The cull settings in the “Show instance settings” pane DO update in the editor properly however.
Looks like this is still an bug.
how is this still a bug it’s effecting 4.18.3 and 4.19 is a major VR update why again?
1 billion years later and still don’t work
still not working but mobile works
still a bug old foliage wont work with terrain reapply does nothing.
lol… I just searched online… this issue was there since 2014…
14 october 2020 still don’t work…
Just wanted to say that in 4.25.4 setting checkboxes affects reapply tool behavior like expected. Only after reading the documentation i’ve realised that you have checkboxes to the left of the text (maybe it’s just, but it’s not a usual place for them to be in UE) which are disabled by default.
UE 5.1 and it’s still not fixed… .
Could Epic just remove it at this point? No point in keeping something that doesn’t work since 2014 as it gives the impression of a false solution.
This video shows how to use the re-apply tool.
I’m assuming most people in this thread made the wrong assumption that you change the settings in the paint tool, then click on re-apply and simply try to paint over existing foliage. You need to first select the re-apply tool, check the boxes of the settings to be changed and then paint over the existing foliage.
