Foliage forced LOD 0 in MRQ without console commands but not in editor

I’m trying to render a forest in the distance and I noticed that foliage lods are always 0 while rendering in MRQ without using any console commands. I don’t really need lod 0 for that distance and it takes a lot longer to render. I’m not sure why it does that. In editor it works fine. I tried using commands to disable lod 0 and it’s still the same. Also it happens in every new project I create. Anyone had a same issue?

Hello @mmKoja, and welcome to our community!

Yeah this is because “cinematic settings”! Not an issue

Oh you need

I guess it is possible doing this:

but better when you consider trying in the sequencer like:

I think it’s the first time in more than 9 years I listen something like this

Also, It can happen if your foliage just contain lod 0! Like in my case!

Thanks for you reply. I did try console command you suggested but its still the same. Also I’m using quixel trees. I’m a complete beginner in this field so sorry if I said something dumb. I’m trying to fill out some spaces in the distance (it’s about 1km away from the camera) and I really don’t think there is a difference between using lod0 and lod1 or higher and since lod0 has triple geometry of lod1 it makes sense to me that I shouldn’t use lod0. Also I tried setting minimum lod but it has no effect.

And how do you know? Are you visualizing the lods by color in the viewport?

Did you check your mesh has more than one lod?

Also just to say, 99% of problems with foliage is because people is not using lod 0…

Ah perhaps some screenshots help us to help you :upside_down_face:

I checked the number of lods. In viewport it works fine. I did visualize by color.
This is how it look in viewport.

This is how it look rendered

It clearly forces lod0. It’s same with using console commands to disable it.
It seems there is something that overrides everything and forces lod0.

Yeah it’s the idea, look the difference between shadows, I really don’t understand why you want to decrease It

But! I have a solution if you really need

Give me some min

I know this looks bad. But in my case I don’t need lod 0 since at distance lod 1 would be fine. I wouldn’t use higher lods but I don’t have the freedom to choose any other than lod0.

Ok it seems to work

Duplicate the tree, and force It to use just LOD 1

Then use it in the farthest areas :evergreen_tree:

Great. It works. Thank you for you time. Really appreciate it
