Foliage billboard material too much noticeable

Hi, Guys

I’ve downloaded ‘Kikuyu grass’ asset through unreal bridge. I didn’t change any it’s settings for materials or meshes. I’ve just created foliage for my landscape with using this asset. What I see is that far away from the camera it renders to me billboards material which is highly noticeable and looks like I have two circles of grass with big gap between it. While use only grass mesh without foliage placing functionality then billboard material is not visible for any distance of the camera. So how can I remove rendering this billboard material far away from the camera or make it less noticeable? Thanks!

A lot of the MS grass has this problem.

You have two solutions

  1. Change the material for the billboard

  2. Remove that LOD

Whats with the gap?

Like, what settings are you setting as distance to achieve this? I see 10,000 units in the image btw so nvm.
However thats far too long a distance…

The distance should effectively be culling all grass thats outside of the set range.
If culled, the LOD should not display.

In theory, unless you have a bad asset which contains an empty/invalid LOD, you shouldn’t have a “gap” like the end result shown.
