Flood Simulation


I am a landscape architect student trying to simulate a 200 year flood event in Unreal. I am bringing a model in from city engine and I am currently working with materials from the ocean project. I have very little background knowledge in video game development. I was wondering if anyone could direct me to tutorials that are beneficial to the project content or just useful beginner tutorials.

Right now I am specifically trying to figure out how to move a plane in the xy direction (showing the change in water level) as well as trying to figure out how to attach an object to a moving material such as waves.
