Summary
Hi everyone. I’ve got flickering and glitching non-static models in several UE4 and UE5 games.
Here is a video showing the glitches in Fortnite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1ySMEMul7U
I guess that this problem is caused by a faulty CPU core and this issue gets elliminated if by setting CPU affinity through task manager or Process Lasso I disable the 4th and 5th threads of the CPU. The problem is that this happens only in UE4 and UE5 games and in any other game everything is fine. The most disturbing issue is that Fortnite has an anti-cheat system (EAC) which doesn’t allow setting cpu affinity for Fortnite’s process. Is there anything someone can advise besides buying new CPU that can fix this issue for me? I have already tried everything:
-Updating Windows
-Reinstalling Windows
-Buying a new graphics card (Switched from AMD to Nvidia)
-Turning off XMP profile of the RAM
-Changing game’s graphics settings and the renderer API (DirectX11/12/Performance mode)
-Changing graphics settings
-Updating chipset drivers
-Updating graphic drivers
-Turning off any background software
-Launching the game as an administrator
-Reinstalling the game
-Reinstalling the game into a different location
-Verifying the files’ integrity
-Doing an SFC /scannow in the Windows command prompt
-Doing chkdsk in Windows command prompt
-Clearing Windows registry issues
-Disconnecting all the USB devices
The PC specs are the follows:
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600G
GPU: Nvidia RTX 3060 12GB
RAM: G.skill Ripjaws 16GB 3600Mhz (2x8) (They are inserted correctly for dual channel mode)
Motherboard: Asus TUF B450M PRO-S
