There’s a shortcut for all of the basic math functions except subtract. I would imagine that holding “S” with a left click (like the other math functions use “A”, “D” and “M”) would do this but instead spawns a scalar parameter? It would probably make more sense to hold “Shift+1” for a scalar parameter seeing as “1” spawns a scalar constant.
I cant be the only one who forgets “S” doesnt spawn subtract and ends up spawning a parameter that is instantly named “ssssssssssss”.
use ‘S’ for subtract and push scalar-parameter to 5 (it’s after the 1,2,3,4 vecs…)
or
use the minus-key ‘-’ for subtract. it moves it off the left-hand-resting position, but symbolizes well
EDIT: FYI for anyone that reads this, as of at least 5.3, you can still right-click and hit the minus key to get to subtract, but I still would rather a hotkey to hold+mouseclick like the other basic operators
You guys probably need to upvote the original post so that maybe it becomes more visible to the developers. I’ve just started to use shortcuts and I already find it extremely annoying that there isn’t a shortcut for subtract, but there’s for a bump node, which I don’t even know what it is.
