FBX Imports Not Snapping to Grid

Summary

I saw that someone had asked for help with this in 2023 and got told to report it as a bug, so I’m doing that too. If it’s not a bug, please tell me what I am doing wrong. The assets in the Fortnite folder snap fine when I use them. But assets I export as an FBX from Blender to import into UEFN do not snap. :unamused: It’s a bit tedious. :joy:

Hello StarDroid,

This is not a bug, but I think I see where the confusion is coming from.

There is a distinction between the Fortnite Cell Snapping Grid, and the ‘Default’ Snap grid.

I think the solution is to create a Blueprint and set its parent class to Wall/Floor/etc.

You’d then set your imported mesh in this Blueprint’s ‘Static Mesh Component’

I haven’t put this into practice, so let me know if some aspect of this doesn’t work and we can dive deeper.
