FBX from Maya not showing up in import

I’m in an animation class currently, and my final is to import a bunch of animations into Unreal and set up a state machine. I’m specifying that because my teacher provided a list of approved rigs that he knew would work in Unreal, so I have it on his authority that it isn’t a problem with the rig itself. (Its the free Faun rig online).
I’m dragging the exported FBX into the unreal window (under thirdPersonBP) and following the guided import steps, but then when I hit import, nothing is showing up in that location.
Even stranger, Then when I exit Unreal, it asks me if I want to save the animation FBX into its location- despite the fact that its also telling me that there is nothing there.
Does anyone have any ideas to what might be causing this?
