Fbx from blender gets ruined textures after.


I havent added any textures in blender. It looks fine but when I export it to unreal it is messed up. If I try to add a material it doesnt render properly. Why is this happening?

I’m seeing 2 problems. First, the UVs look very broken. (Compare the grid pattern on the back of the headboard to the sheets/mattress/pillow/frame.)

Also, The ‘leather/cloth bubble grid’ in your headboard have the normals facing in the wrong direction.

Let us know if you need any extra guidance on UV mapping or flipping normal direction.

Aaaah the UV mapping is my kryptonite. I use smart UV project to make them since i Dont thing I can. I understand the theory but I cant do it haha.

I did it by Uv mapping every piece separately. Thank you for pointing out the problem!

There’s also some UV auto unwrapping tools in Unreal’s modeling mode that could be worth a try in the future.
