face material index inconsistency


I am modelling in Cinema C4D and exporting FBX. As soon as I don’t use more than one material on a mesh and just one UVW map everything works well. But as soon as I import a mesh with two materials applied to certain selections I get the message: face material index inconsistency - forcing to 0 . I have tried probably every possible version of naming, fbx version and so on, but nothing works. I have searched the forum but nothing there. Does anyone know how to solve it? Every advice is very welcome. Many thanks

I had the same problem and figured out why it was happening. All of the materials on your object have to use the “UVW Mapping” Projection, then it works.
