Hello everyone, Thank you for your help in advance. I noticed that some of my assets that look fine on the editor, turn really dark when I hit play and it shows the same way on my builds, Almost all these assets have one thing in common, I imported them from the FAB plugin I installed very recently,
I said “Almost” because some trees seem to have some darker branches as well, All materials look fine in the content drawer, did try many suggested solutions from many forums but the problem remains, changing the light map resolution and coordinate index did nothing, messing with the normals and remeshing still nothing, I also reinstalled the plugin and changed nothing, there is no error message and compiles fine, Please Help! :c I’m using UE5.3
My specs:
CPU: i7-13700HX
GPU: Geforce RTX 4060 “Laptop”
RAM: 16GB (2x8)
and
CPU: 3900X
GPU: 6700XT 12GB
Motherboard: Rog Strix Gaming B450-f

Hi @Ajalandro18 . I’ve shared your report with the team - we’ll take a look. Could you please share what product this is that’s not displaying correctly?
Hi! @skfabby Thank you so much for your help, it’s every Fab asset I added so far in Unreal Engine 5.3.2
here are all FAB assets next to assets pulled from the Megascans folder

A better solution I found was:
[If don’t have Virtual Textures Set up, Scroll down to “Main Fix”]
-Open the parent material of the static mesh (There is a VT Version of this material, in some cases I was able to select and fix that one, in other cases it broke, since I'm using Virtual Textures and the VT material did not work in this mesh I added the fix to the original material instead)
-Go to each texture and replace them with Virtual Textures inside the “Details” panel if running virtual textures.
-(In my case I had to convert these textures to VT.)
Select all the textures from the asset folder then right click and select “Convert to Virtual Texture”
Main Fix:
-In the parent material, tick the default value of “Enable Material AO” Bool to True, hit Apply and Save.
- Result:
I know this is not the proper way but I know nothing about graphics and materials , so please share the proper solution Thank you.
