Extreme Lag on my Published Map

Summary

I’ve gotten recent reports that my map was basically unplayable because of the lag. I joined a session and noticed the same thing myself and it seems to have occurred fairly recently.

Steps to Reproduce

Joining a Public session on my map Sneaky Snipers [Meadows] - One Shot results in all players lagging pretty badly.

Expected Result

Joining a Public seesion on my map Sneaky Snipers [Meadows] - One Shot should not result in any unexpected lag.

Observed Result

Players constantly lagging on my island. I also noticed within the Snapshot History of my project in UEFN that there are a lot of .json files that I have no clue what they are for. For example in my most recent snapshot/update all I did was update some of the item placers within my map but it seems that these .json files were changed too. I will include some screenshots of my snapshot history.

Additional Notes

I’ve also joined a private session of my island and had no issues with connection. And I have no Verse errors showing for my project in the Creator Portal and my performance data is normal for all devices.



I’ve just noticed that they were added in the older snapshot and just checking in changes now and they were removed.

I launched a session to test and it seems that they were added back

I closed out of the editor and reopened my project to then find all of the .json files removed again.

So, I have no idea if the .JSON files are what’s causing this issue but it does seem that when launching a session they are added to my project and when closing my project they are removed.

I reverted to the snapshot before any of the .JSON files were showing and will redo my update and publish it to see if that changes any of the issues with the lag.

Edit: After reverting my most recent update there don’t seem to be any more issues with lag. I’m still waiting for confirmation from the players that initially reported this to me but hopefully it’s no longer an issue.
