Exposing World Partition UseAlignedGridLevels

Hi!

We at Havok would like to support out-of-the-box both UseAlignedGridLevels enabled and disabled (as there’s a misalignment between the generated Havok Grid Cells and the World Partioning Cells when it’s disabled). For that we need for UseAlignedGridLevels to be exposed, would that be possible?

Hi Diego.

These settings are for the old runtime spatial hash which has been replaced by the spatial hashset.

There’s already a public getter in UWorldPartitionRuntimeSpatialHash::GetUseAlignedGridLevels, can you use that?

Thanks for replying, since customers can still use the old runtime spatial hash we would like to support it anyways. I’m a bit surprised you mention it’s public, I just checked both our repo (and yours) and it is private:[Image Removed]

My bad, it’s private. Would making it public be enough for your use case?

Hi Jean-François, yes it should be - I was thinking of asking to expose the URuntimePartitionLHGrid::Origin for the spatial hashset use case, but I can make the offset default to half the cell size and the user can override and define its offset instead - so yeah only GetUseAlignedGridLevels().

BTW, will this be in 5.7? Or only in 5.7.1? (I noticed the dev-5.7 branch doesn’t have this change yet)
