Export mp4 error

Hello

When I export mp4, I will only create an empty file. This is the case with the past and current versions

But there is no problem if the output is png

The graphics card has been updated to the latest version with 3070 driver

See the supplementary screen recording for details

This computer was previously a 1060 graphics card

3070 just replaced yesterday

This is still the case when I test with another 1060 computer

After that, another 2060 computer was used, and the test was normal

thank you

Hi ,

This seems like a bug.

Please try following the steps in the Twinmotion is not visible after splash screen article, as this might help with the issue by resetting Twinmotion to a default configuration.

If that does not work, please submit a bug report here and share a copy of your Twinmotion log files after trying to export an mp4 file (Where to find Twinmotion .log file). We would need this information to investigate what might be causing this issue.

Best,

Raghib

Thank you, Raghib

After I delete the folder in the way you provided, the settings of twinmotion do return to the default

But this still cannot solve the problem

The following is the log file generated during export

Thank you again

Twinmotion_2.log (823.0 KB)

And how does this video look like in preview mode?

hi

I used the video export function for several months previously and it was normal. This problem only started recently and even another computer has the same issue. If I change the output format from mp4 to png, the output is normal. The preview within Twinmotion is normal, but when it exports, it shows the calculation of time and then the dialog box for exporting disappears. The exported animation is just an empty mp4 file with no size and cannot be played.

Thank you, Raghib, for taking the time to help me solve the problem amidst your busy schedule.

I followed the solution you provided and deleted the files, even reinstalled the Twinmotion software and the HVEC video encoder from the Microsoft App Store, but the issue remains unresolved. Perhaps it is because both computers that have the issue are running the latest Dav update channel version of Win11, or there might be other problems.

Fortunately, exporting as PNG format can temporarily serve as a solution.

I will wait for future updates of Windows or Twinmotion to see if the issue will be resolved.

My English is not very good, so there might be some grammatical errors.

I am a loyal fan of Twinmotion from China, and once again, thank you.

Thanks for the extra information and sharing the log file.

The log indicates there was an error during the frame encoding process. There is no indicator of where the issue may be occurring from, so Please try doing all of the following.

First save a copy of the user library folders before proceeding if you have any saved assets you do not want to lose.

  1. Delete the entire folder 2023.1 in Documents C:\Users\&username%\Documents\Twinmotion2023.1
  2. Delete the logs and temp folders.
    1. C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Twinmotion
    2. C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Temp\Twinmotion2023.1
  3. Run the Prerequisites .exe. C:\Program Files\Epic Games\Twinmotion 2023.1\Engine\Extras\Redist\en-us\UE4PrereqSetup_x64.exe
  4. Then verify the installation from the Epic Games launcher.
  5. Restart computer and try again.

This should remove and reset all Twinmotion files in case the issue is caused by corrupt Twinmotion files. If that does not fix the issue, please try checking your Windows Update for updates to system drivers that may need to be installed. Particularly, try checking the video codecs for updates, or re-installing them.

Let me know if this helps or not.

Best,

Raghib

Thanks for letting me know. The Dev Channel for Windows could be a possible reason for this. If you are able to test in future Windows updates and notice a difference, please let us know so we can try to confirm and prevent this once the updates become more widely available.

Best,

Raghib
