Epic support gives vague reason for Map Sumbission Failed

Hello

We are told in this forum to contact Epic Support for failed submissions that don’t say what content isn’t allowed, for ex:

We noticed an issue that needs your attention, and this public release has been rejected.
Please address the following issues, and then publish a new release using the Creator Portal:

  • The content within your creative island

After contacting support here’s their response:

Upon investigation, we have found the moderation decision to be accurate for the island nr (…). Misleading Content has been observed in this island which is a violation of our “Keep It Authentic” as outlined in our Community Rules and/or Creator Content Rules and Guidelines.

This still doesn’t specify what content in my map is misleading. I’m unable to remove it to fix the map.

Ticket case: 26286585

Hello Kamyker,

I have zero insight into the review/greenlight process, but I am also curious as to what the limits/triggers are.

For context:

1.11 Keep It Authentic (Accessed 5/29/23) - When promoting your island inside Fortnite, the assets (such as thumbnail images or videos) you use to represent your Fortnite island must accurately represent what players will experience in your island; you must not mislead players as to the sort of experience they will have. You may not incorporate photographs. You must not incorporate elements that mislead players with regards to XP gains, in-game items, or Quests. Where Fortnite already provides a visual element to indicate a feature to the players (e.g. the ability to earn XP in your island, or the selection border of a game tile), you must not imitate or supplement it.

What does your thumbnail image look like? (Sounds like photographs in thumbnails are a no-go)

What is the general idea of this experience?

What sort of things do you tell the player in those 3 description blocks?

Thanks for the help @Astrotronic but I really don’t want to guess what isn’t allowed and waste a lot of time trying to publish a map after every small change especially as failed reviews hurt the chance to get into Discovery.

When I submit maps (with no changes) after failed reviews they sometimes go through so it seems to depend on who was evaluating the map.

I’d like to know what content was considered wrong by the person that rejected the map to understand how moderation thinks and not do the same mistake again in the future.

I’ve got yet another useless reponse from the support:

I’ve read your entire interaction, and I’m sorry to read you are still having issues with your Island. Please make sure to check our Community Rules and Creator Content Rules and Guidelines and then check your Island again, so you can correct the misleading content. Kindly note that as part of Player Support, we are unable to flag specific content, so please make sure to thoroughly read the Guidelines.

This makes zero sense. They are literally unable to tell what content in my map isn’t allowed.

The whole process makes me want to quit Creative all together. Releasing standalone games for ex. on Steam is much simpler than this mess.
