In China, for various reasons, a massive number of gamers use VPNs/proxy software or game boosters, such as Flclash. Currently, there is an issue with the Epic Launcher: if a user has a proxy/VPN tool running, a “network error” popup will appear upon entering the Epic Launcher. However, if the user turns off the proxy/VPN, the Epic Launcher opens normally.

This issue is consistently reproducible. You can easily replicate it simply by opening the Epic Launcher while a VPN/proxy tool is running. A large number of users in the China region are experiencing this problem.
-
This issue did not happen in previous versions; it only started occurring after a recent Epic update. In the past, having a VPN/proxy tool open while entering the Epic Launcher caused no issues whatsoever.

I strongly suspect the root cause lies in your recent program update: It seems requests intended for LocalHost’s Epic Online Services (EOS) are being mistakenly routed directly to the system proxy. Because of this, even if EOS is running normally, it cannot receive the Launcher’s requests. Consequently, the Launcher receives a 502 error, mistakenly assumes there is an issue with EOS, and continuously throws error popups.
