Installation goes fine but then the launcher doesn’t open. Displayed no errors when clicked, but only spins briefly and stops.

Thanks for responding! I actually got this to work last night and everything is great. I had a basic AMD video card driver installed but it apparently wasn’t the right one for my Radeon R9 270x, so once I downloaded and installed the proper driver, Epic Games Launcher opened with no problems. Not sure why that was holding me up but it certainly fixed it.
This was directly after a full HDD wipe and re-install of the OS and my chipset drivers were all gone, but again, not certain why the Launcher opening was contingent on the video card driver… Either way, it’s working.

First try right-clicking the icon and run it as administrator. If that doesn’t work, please post your dxdiag (system specs) for us.

You’re graphics card isn’t listed in the specs you provided but judging from your processor, a dual-core, it looks like your machine doesn’t meet the recommended specs.
For developing with UE4, we recommend a desktop PC with 64-bit or a Mac with Mac OS X 10.9.2 or later, 8 GB RAM and a quad-core Intel or AMD processor, and a DX11 compatible video card.
If you like you can look through our user survey to get some ideas or see if someone is using similar specs.
I’m also having the same issue, but here are my specs from dxdiag:
Windows 10 Home 64-bit
amd a6-5200 APU with Radeon™ HD Graphics (4 CPUs), ~2.0GHz
Memory: 12288MB Ram(12 GB)
DirectX Version 11.2
I’m suspecting that maybe the installer isn’t finishing the install, but the Epic Games Launcher Icon appears on my desktop, so that seems illogical. When I go to properties, though, I see that the target location says Win32, although my computer is 64 bit. Nothing was changed during the install period, but I am curious to know if I can manipulate something to get the target location to Win64, which I have seen in many other forum posts and on the Unreal website.
Any ideas?

I’m having the same problem as other people on this post. It installs and the shortcut is open on my desktop, but opening it does nothing. There are no processes in the task manager, it’s allowed through the firewall, I’ve tried running it as administrator, still, nothing.

As far as I’m aware the dxdiag file doesn’t mention anything about a graphics card except for some file paths I found halfway through that contain the characters “amd”, though I don’t know if that’s useful.
Me too I have a the same problem as well… tried running it as andministrator. tried deleting and downloading a few times… tried a DX setup… tried things from youtube. but still doesnt work. And where do I find my computer specs cuase im dumb… is this it??:

Whenever I click on download fortnite it shows the install location amd I push install.
Then it won’t show the downloading on the tasks menu.
I didnt find anything there!

i have the same thing as the very first dude. I click on epic games launcher (its downloaded and on my desktop) and it just doesn’t open. I have windows, and all my drivers are definitely updated. I’ve reinstalled and tried every single option on this planet. Anything new i can try?
