Epic Games Launcher Linux

Hopefully this is the right place to ask this. Is there a way to get packages to install foliage and buildings, into Unreal Engine without the Epic Games Launcher. Is there a way to run the Epic Games Launcher on Linux? I have found a way to run the Epic Games Store on Linux, but not the Epic Games Launcher. Any help would be appreciated. I’m new to Linux but I like it better for 3D software

Hey there @dbrown7080! I don’t use UE on my linux based laptop, but it looks like you do have a couple of options!

Let me know which one works best for you!

I tried using Lutris, but it only installs the Epic Games Store, not the Epic Games Launcher.

Understandable, it seems like the best move would be to go with getting the files and applying them directly as the other user did.

Are you talking about using the glTF Exporter, or by installing them on a Windows computer and then transferring them? I looked into using the glTF Exporter, but I need the Epic Games Launcher to do that.

It would be interesting if we asked Epic Games to create a native launcher for Linux.

In that user’s case, they wanted to use the exporter plugin, but were intending to download the plugins from a windows system and then transport them.

Also Welcome back to the community @maurorisonho! I agree a linux client would be great.

How would we go about asking them to build a launcher for Linux? It looks like I am stuck until they do.

You could drop a thread inside the feedback and suggestions portion of the forums and gather Linux users to upvote and comment on it so it grows. That being said, if you’re savvy we could try and see if their passing plugins for build idea works out, because if so it might be a good stopgap measure.

Hello, what is the best UE launcher as for now? First time I compiled the engine natively but it’s not convenient because of the lack of multiple tools for assets. Later I used Lutris - it launched the whole EGS launcher and there was the UE launcher support. But not sure it was well-optimized, any other options?
