Having the same issue! I fully reset my PC, fresh installed windows, everything you can think of. It worked for a little while when I physically disconnected my second monitor, but now I can’t even get the launcher to open without crashing.

I mean… atleast i’m not the only one… Yea i got the exact same issue.
The only games that will download are games with like a second launcher like Genshin.

But if i try to download things like Red Dead, Fortnite, GTA, Alan Wake, etc. it just crashes.

it has been doin this since yesterday too.

I have tried everything and the only thing I have been able to do is download, among us.

Since it weighs less than 1 GB, I had no problem there, but practically any game that is many GB in weight is impossible for me to download.

Epic launcher crashes when I try to install fortnite. This error shows up and its been happening since yesterday

Hey, I figured it out on my son’s computer!

We were having this exact issue over and over on his PC, but nothing was solving it, not even reinstalling the OS.

Finally, I realized that the memory addresses in these crash reports were all fairly high address values (like the 0x000000a500000044 in this thread).

In our case at least, turned out it was happening because of a bad RAM stick! Apparently some recent change to the EpicGamesLauncher is putting something in higher memory addresses, and it’s hitting an area of RAM that had gone bad, but previously unnoticed.

Ran MemTest86, and boom, there it was… memory errors.

Pulled the bad stick, and boom, everything works again.

Hope this helps!

Good to know. Though that definitely sounds like an Epic issue, when Steam and everything else installs/updates just fine

Can you clearly explain to me what needs to be done to fix the bug?

What’s reported to work is throttling the download speed of the launcher to ~5mbps or less. Just using a VPN worked for me
