EOS Overlay freezes on Vulkan when the game window is resized while the overlay is open (Windows, SDK 1.19.2.1)

Summary
On Windows with a Vulkan renderer, if the game window changes size while the EOS Social Overlay is open, the overlay stops working: it stays drawn over the game, takes no mouse or keyboard input, and Shift+F3 no longer closes it. EOS keeps reporting the overlay as visible with exclusive input, so the game stays paused. The only way out is restarting the game. The same steps on Direct3D 12 work correctly.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Start a windowed game that renders with Vulkan, with the overlay enabled (no EOS_PF_DISABLE_OVERLAY flags).
  2. Sign in with an Epic account (Auth, then Connect).
  3. Press Shift+F3 to open the Social Overlay.
  4. While the overlay is open, change the window’s size (double-click the title bar to maximize or restore it, or drag it into a Windows snap layout).
  5. Press Shift+F3 again, or click in the overlay.

Expected: the overlay follows the new size and Shift+F3 closes it.

Actual:

  • The overlay stays on screen, no longer responds to clicks or keys, and Shift+F3 does nothing.
  • EOS_UI_AddNotifyDisplaySettingsUpdated sends no further callback after the resize (the last one said bIsVisible = true, bIsExclusiveInput = true).
  • Opening the overlay after a resize works; only a resize while it’s open breaks it.
  • With one game process alone the result is the same.

On Direct3D 12 (same game, same machine, same steps) the overlay follows maximize and restore and closes normally.

Environment

  • EOS SDK 1.19.2.1 (CL58105819), Windows x64
  • Windows 11 Pro 10.0.26200
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080, driver 617.14
  • Renderer: wgpu 30 on Vulkan, FIFO present mode. On a resize the game reconfigures its surface, which recreates the VkSwapchainKHR at the new size.
  • Sign-in through the Developer Authentication Tool; the overlay installed by the Epic Games Launcher.

Workaround we use: the game renders with Direct3D 12 on Windows when signed in to an Epic account.

Is this a known limitation of the overlay’s Vulkan support? Is there a flag or call the game should make around swapchain recreation (for example, closing the overlay or notifying EOS before resizing)?
