When I reach the end of my map and trigger the End Game Event on the End Game Device, it simply stops responding, logs me out of the session and throws me a “Lost Connection” message.
Steps to Reproduce
Grab all coins and reach the Finish line on the final building.
Expected Result
Victory/Loss screen appears and players can play again or leave.
Observed Result
Game stops responding, if you’re on the car you can’t drive anymore, but can drift pressing Spacebar and trigger HUD commands on the car.
If you end up falling, you won’t die even though there’s a damage volume right below.
Can confirm. All my islands that use end game devices are freezing completely when it’s triggered from Verse. (Not sure if it does the same when triggered other way)
Thank you for your report! We would like to look into this further, would you be able to submit a bug report using the form available here: Fortnite Creative
Just did. Also would appreciate if this was treated as a major issue that needs to be fixed ASAP because it’s breaking my islands completely and causing players to give up, I assume many other people who use this device in their islands are suffering too.
My island was just featured with that bug, surely the bot will understand there was an issue that was causing the players to leave right? what happens to my engagement metrics now? had to unlist the map.
I hope that you resolve it quickly. This problem is affecting several islands that either don’t have a strong player base or have just been listed in a certain category. This is due to the simple fact that this issue will tarnish the reputation of the island. Players will assume that it’s an issue with the island itself, rather than a problem on your end. I hope that you take action so that these new islands are not penalized for an error on your part.
More on this, issue only happens to me if I have any of the display times below set to anything other than 0, if they’re all 0 the game won’t freeze but won’t show the score either.
It looks like as of today (30/08/23) the issue’s been fixed in Fortnite’s most recent update, we did lose some player engagement but I guess it should go back to normal after some time.
