Enabling "Physics" in Island Settings completely breaks Player Sliding mechanic

Summary

I have discovered a direct conflict between the Physics settings and the Player Movement mechanics in UEFN. When the “Physics” option is enabled within the Project Settings, the Player Character becomes unable to Slide. This happens even if “Allow Sliding” and “Allow Sprinting” are all explicitly set to ON.

What Type of Bug are you experiencing?

Island Settings

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open a UEFN project.

  2. Place an Island Settings device.

  3. Ensure Allow Sliding is set to ON .

  4. Open Project Settings and enable Physics.

  5. Launch the session.

  6. Attempt to Sprint and Slide.

Expected Result

Enabling global Physics in the Project Settings should not disable the player’s ability to Slide. The physics simulation for objects/environment should function independently of the character’s movement state machine.

Observed Result

The player character performs the sprint animation but ignores the input to Slide. The sliding state is never entered, acting as if the mechanic is disabled.

Platform(s)

windows

Mantling, sliding, ziplining, grind rails, and down but not out (DBNO) are not currently available when enabling Physics on your island.
