Emulate real water?

Hey,

I just came along to drop a question. Is it possible to simulate real-time water? Like, drop a bubblet of water in a “container”, and when objects are thrown in there, the level of water rises? I’m not asking for just a Plane that will move like it’s a wave with nice colors.

I’m asking for real simulation of water. I know that computers can’t really compute all the molecules of water. But there could be tiny bubbles which could merge together and split where something that would apply real physical force, would, well, split it.

Is such thing possible? Any links? Tutorials?

Take a look at NVIDIA Flex, it has water simulation via particles, and can do what you stated above, it requires quite a beefy GPU to do well and the shader still needs some work to look more like water, but is a good starting spot. Also the FluidSurfacePlugin here can do rippling of water, but is essentially still a flat plane
