Emissive material turns to white color

Hello,

I know this topic has been discussed a lot since 4.15 and I have researched it thoroughly but still could not find a solution to my problem. So I am asking this in hope to get a personal help to my issue.

Basically, the title - when I increase (10-20 range) the emmisive color multiplier it turns the glow color to white. And in my stylized graphics game it’s not what I want.

On the left is the current look, on the right is what I want to achieve. I use a lot of post processing already for cel-shading and outlines materials. How could I get this “correct” glowing effect? What things should I look at?

Thanks!

It looks good. Still using 4?

Whichever engine you’re using, you can’t ( reliably ) get that sort of emissive cylinder effect without cheating.

In this example, you could just use a cylinder mesh with a translucent material.

With UE5, and Lumen, you do get very nice bounce effects from emissive materials, but that could easily get cancelled out by a PP like this.

Thanks for reply!

No, it’s 5.1
Translucent material is fine - I can make it work. But I need glowing effect as well.
Could you give more details about these bounce effects you are talking about? What do I look for?

My PP is the biggest problem I guess.

The bounce is automatic. Assume your PP is cutting it out?
