I noticed the starry skybox I made for my level flickers as the camera moves. I’ve searched about this problem for hours now, but haven’t found a solution. Check the video below.
The skybox is a massive sphere that has an opaque skybox material on it that is slightly emittive. Anti-aliasing is set to off. The flickering is less noticable in the editor viewport than in play. I have a post process volume in the level that should have the same settings as the player camera.
Might as well try out different sized stars. Any idea why the effect isn’t as clear in the viewport editor than in play? Motion blur is also turned off in the PPV and first person camera.
Definitely doesn’t look like it, and the fact that it is less noticeable in the viewport would also suggest that it is not turned off, since motion blur isn’t visible in the editor, only while playing.
You should be aware that unchecking the box in the post process volume does not turn settings off, it just tells the engine to use the default and Motion Blur defaults to being enabled so if you simply uncheck the box without changing the default, then it will still be enabled.
To turn motion blur off you need to enable the checkbox and set the intensity to 0.
