Email asking me to verify my age

Hello, I recently received an email from Epic that said:

"Epic is making changes to its ecosystem that will help provide an age-appropriate experience for players, developers, and creators of all ages. In order to continue using certain UE, Twinmotion and MetaHuman services and tools in the Epic ecosystem, you must take the following steps:

  • All users should log into their Epic account and report their age, if not previously on record, by February 6, 2023."

I’ve had a look at my account page, and I can’t see anywhere to enter my age. I’ve no idea whether I entered it before.

I’m mentioning this because I want to know if this will affect my access to Epic services, etc.

I would suggest sending an email to Epic Games and ask them if it will affect you in any possible way. I just had a look at my own account settings and can’t see any information about age or any form of age restriction.

I think the email might be spam, virus or someone trying to get your account details. Did the email provide any login page?

I posted the email I also received in this thread:

I got it too, and I can confirm it is not a virus. The sender is help@mail.epicgames.com who sends updates from this forum and other unreal related stuff. I compared the address with the real login redirect page to the mailed one and it is legit.

People at epic should fix the account page to let us enter the age or send another mail or someting.

Thank you for confirming!

Probably cause they got screwed in that lawsuit for not babysitting people’s kid’s data.
