I’m finding that although ray tracing is generally usable and working as expected in projects there are a couple of occasions where UE slows down, generally to the point of crashing (and either has to be killed in the task manager or the computer turned off).
It happens either when I try to record a movie sequence or when I select a camera (opening the camera’s preview window). I can turn off camera previews but I need to be able to record. This happens even in very simple scenes and even with only ray traced shadows (no gi or reflections) enabled.
If I turn off ray tracing in the project everything goes back to normal and runs fast.
I’m wondering if somehow my GPU could be broken? And if so, how would I be able to confirm this? I haven’t come across other mentions of the issue.
