Summary
Was in UEFN told me there was a new version available. Exited UEFN checked the launcher shows it downloaded an update “just now”. Launched UEFN getting message there is an update. Closed down again, verified files. Launch UEFN again same message.

yop,same here. some many things this release.. Memmory calculation when up so much too… ahh painfull to stay on realease schedule

FORT-920728 has been created and its status is ‘Unconfirmed’. This is now in a queue to be reproduced and confirmed.
This thread may be relevant to the current situation, has a possible solution, but no voting so it might have been missed by the team.
UEFN wouldn’t open after the Fortnite V36.00 update today (Jun-7-2025). I’m running Win 11. I’ve had it installed and have been developing with UEFN for months. After the update, nothing happened when I tried to open it from the Epic Games Launcher. It seems like it tried to start, but then didn’t. And didn’t give any error.
I found the UnrealEditorFortnite-Win64-Shipping.exe executable and tried running it directly, as an administrator, from the C:\Program Files\Epic Games\Fortnite\FortniteGam…

if you verify files again it should work. that’s what I did and it is now all good

That one is in the known issues Fortnite Ecosystem v36.00 with Known Issues - #9 by Flak
We’ve pushed out a fix so you don’t get the needs update pop-up any longer.

I was getting the infinite Update loop in the Launcher.
Closing the Epic Games Launcher, then restarting it allowed me to update a further 462MB for the Editor
Ooh at the same time as the fix was pushed
