Steps to Reproduce

  1. Be in a project with Itemization enabled
  2. Make a prefab subclass of any Fortnite item
  3. Try to override values in any of its components (ie. name, desc, rarity, etc.)

Expected Result

Values can be overridden without editor crashing

I have uploaded a Google Drive folder with recordings & editor logs here.

Item prefabs I tested: TacticalShotgun_Rare, BoomBow_Legendary

  • The issue is scheduled to be addressed in 40.20
  • In the meantime, it is possible to work around the issue by creating a prefab asset and then adding the Fortnite Item via the Prefab Editor menu (i.e., avoid creating the prefab from an entity in the level).

FORT-1081676 is ‘Closed’ as ‘Fixed’. The issue will be addressed in 40.20.
